At a call meeting of the City Council all members of the council were present
except aldermen R.V. Groves.
The secretary read the resignation of the City Marshall J.H. Edgington. A motion
was made by A.D. Boyd and seconed by J.W. Nicholson that the resignation be
accepted. Motion Carried.
Applications were read from J.T. Hickham and W.T. Corzine for the position
of City Marshall.
A motion was made by J.W. Nicholson and seconed by C.W. Taylor that W.T. Corzine
be accepted if the salary sit scale could be agreed upon. There was a lengthy
discussion with Mr. Corsine about the salary with following action being taken.
A motion was made by J.W. Nicholson and seconed by A.D. Boyd that the City pay
Mr. Corzine an addition $50.00 for the period from Oct. 1, 1952 to Oct 15, 1952
to serve both as City Marshall and Night Policeman. Motion carried. Permenant
disposition was to be made of this problem at the next regular meeting.
No further business the council adjourned.
