02-16-1953 (City Council) Minutes CITY OF WYLIE
WYLIE, TEXAS
Feb. 16, 1953
The City Council of this City met in regular session on the above date
will all members of the council except alderman Bowden being present.
The minutes of the January meeting were read and approved.
All bills were ordered paid.
A motion was made by J.A. Nicholson and seconed by C.A. Taylor that
the City hold an election April 7, 1953 for the purpose of electing
three (3) alderman. Motion carried.
A motion was made by J.A. Nicholson and second by A.D. Boyd that the
secretary be authorised to retire all Maltz bonds that the City is
finiacially able to. Motion Carried.
Mayor J.A. Benton made the following appointment with the approval of
the council. A.O. Houston was appointed to hold the election and he is
to secure as much help as he deems necessary.
Mr. E.C. Courtney met with the council in regard to repair work on the
water tower. II1 After a lengthy discussion was made in regard to the
matter the council deeided upon the following action. Itr. Cortney was
to send the City a contract stating what repairs he would do to the tank
and what the cost would do. The council was to then take whatever action
they dean necessary.
No further business the council adjourned to meet again at the next regular
or call meeting.
