03-16-1953 (City Council) Minutes o r CITY F FLIT WYLIE, TEXAS March 16, 1953 The City Council of this City met in regular session on the above date with all members present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. All bills were ordered paid. Contestants for the coming election met and drew for places on the ballot, with the following results. 1. Carl Dee lard., Silbert Turner., 3.T.J. Bozeman., 4Wm. T. Taylor., 5 A,D. Boyd., 6. W. P. Poor., 7. J.T. Hickman., 8.R.S. Posey., 9. Joe B. Stewart., 10.Jack Andrews Joe Coomer met with the council in regard to the sewage line on the mat east side of the highway in the south part of town. J.E. Bowden was to see J.M. Butler Jr. about going across his field with the sewage line, and report back to the council. Z.O.W. Hampton, M.F. Allen, and Reid McNatt met with the council in regard to the parking problem in Wylie. These mem represented the Wylie Chamber of commerce. A motion was made by R.V. Groves and seconed by C.W. Taylor that a survey be made to see what could be done. Motion carried. There was a discuss ion in regard to the repair of the water bower, with the following action being taken. A motion was made by C.W. Taylor and seconed by Z R.V. Groves that the City accept the E.L. Courtney construction bid of $1575.00 to repair and paint same. Motion carried.
