05-14-1954 (City Council) Minutes N Q , terry OF WYLIE WYLIE, TEXAS may 14, 1954 The city council of this city met in regular session on the above date with all members of the council being present. The minutes of the April meeting were read and approved. All bills were ordered paid. There was a discussion in regard to the ma Mayor appointing a director to serve on the board of the Notth Texas Municipal Water District for a period of two years starting June 1, 1954. The mayor with the approval of the council re-appointed Truett Smith. A discussion was made in regard to the City joining with the City of Garland in developing a park on Lake Lavon. The following action was taken. A motion was made by A.D. Boyd and Seconed By R.V. Groves that the city enter into an agreement with The City of Garland in MrtfigHRIX developing said park. Motion Carried. A motion was made by R.V. Groves and Seconed by R.S. Posey that the motion made hiring J.T. Hickman as City Policeman and street maintainence man be recended. Notion Carried. There was a lengthy discussion in regard to black-topping some of the streets in the City with no definite action being taken. There was a discussion in regard to W.T. Corzine, the City Marshall, with the following action being taken. A motion vas made by R.V. Groves and seconed by R.S. Posey that Mr. Corzine be given his choice of two alternatives. 1. He would either go back to the tm job, and perform the duties that he did at the time of his election to the office of City Marshall at a salary of 8200.00 and $10.00 expense money or continue as day marshall at a salary of $15.00 monthly.
