The City council of this City met in regular session on the above date with
a 11 members of the council being
present except Alderman M.P. Poor.
The minutes of the December meeting were read and approved.
All bills were ordered paid.
There, was a lengthy discussion in regard to fixing the alley in back of the
buildings on the west side of the street. There was no definite action taken
in regard to this matter.
titer a discussion in regard to what the City could reimburse Mr. John L. Bostic
for the money that he has spend in developing the plot known as the Bostic Addition,
the following action was taken. A motion was made by,R.S. Posey and seconed by
M.P. Allen that fir. Bostic be offered $thir17 dollars -($30.00) per house as payment z°
when the houses are connected to the water & sewage lines. This will only be paid
after the permit fee has been collected by the city. Motion carried.
A discussion in regard to securing a man. to fill the place of Mr. Joe Brooks
who had resigned as City Marshall was held. The following action was taken.
4.. motion was made by R.S. Posey and seconed by R.V. Groves that the '
city hire H.M. (Jack,' Bentley as City Marshall with the same duties and salary
as w . Brooks had. Motion Carried.
The problem of a jail in our City was discussed and the Mayor appointed aldermen
'osey and Groves to check into the cost xmix of building one.
An ordinance in the form of an agreement between the city and the Highway
Department was discussed, and the following action was taken. A motion was
made by ,8'0s< :5.�r.s,2:f:10,�r.s r,Ec x;.a :�ax.a R.S., Posey and seconed by R.V. Groves that
this ordinance be passed. Motion carried. A copy of which is attached.
