At a call meeting of the City Council of this City on the above date all ,:
members of the council were present. Those Being Mayor J.H. Edgington,
Aldermen: R.V. Groves, A.D. Boyd, LP. Poor, M.F. Allen, R.S. Posey, and
secretary T.W. Housewright.

The minutes of the;January meeting were read and approved.
There was a lengthy discussion in regard to building a jail and city office
stErtiaz:(1rIcicitic with the following action being taken. A motion was made by
R.Y. Groves and seconed by R.S. Posey that the City accept bids on the old
City Hall building and reserve the right to reject all bids. Motion carried.
R.V. Groves
A motion was made by =OM= and seconed by M.F. Allen that a city election
be held on April 5, 1955 for the purpose of electing three (3) aldermen. Motion
carried.
After a much discussed problem of water lines in the city for the past several
months the following action was taken bTr the council. A motion was made by

pipe of less than six (6) inch in diameter and that a fire tilsabrist plus would be
paced ero that no house would be more than 400 ft. by way of city streets frost
said fire plug. Any place where a water main is placed across private property fi
an easement will be furnished the Cite.
With no further business the council adjourned to meet again at the next regular
meeting date. •
