09-08-1955 (City Council) Minutes CITY OF WYLIE
WYLIE, TEXAS
Sept. 8, 1955
The City Council met on the above date with the following members of the
council being preseft. Mayor J.K. Edgington., Aldermen R.B. Richardson,
M.F. Allen, and W.D. Green., Secretary W.W. Housewright.
There was a lengthy discussion in regard to E.J. (Jakie ' Hicks and the
trash pick up. There was no definite act on taken in regard to this water
The Nortil Texas Municipal Water District ask permission to lay water lines
in the reefs from the intersection of East brown street with the City Limits
to the City limits west on brown street., and the intersection of east brown
to Ballard and north to the north city limits, also permission to change the
water line running to Garland & Dallas from a 36" line to a 42". A motion
was made by R.B. Richardson and seconed by M.F. Allen that permission be given
in all instances. Motion Carried.
There was a discussion in regard to changing the regular meeting time from the
5th and 20th of each month to the second and fourth Thursday nights. A motion
was made by W.D. Green and Seconed by M.F. Allen to this effect. Motion Carried.
There was a lengthy discussion in regard to a building code and zoning ordinance.
This action was taken in regard to this matter. A motion vas made by R.B.
Richardson and seconed by W.D. Green that the City attorney prepare the necessary
ordinances, also that the the city give permission before anyone moves any
building or lab= thing or constructs any building or thing within the city
limits. Motion carried.
There was a discussion in regard to the tax situation and traffic problems
in the city.
With no furthur business the council adjourned to meet again at the next regular
or Ball meeting by the mayor.
