CITY OF WYLIE
WYLIE, TEXAS
April 12, 1956
At a regular meeting of the city council on the above date all members of the
council were present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and aeproved.
A canvas of the election returns of the city election that was held April 3, 1956,
and the council declared the following persons elected. Mayor D.W. Click.,
Aldermen R.V. Groves., M.F. Allen, & secretary W.W. Hous4wright.
Mrs. Rita Smith administered the oath of office and the new members of the council
were installed.
Mr. Bob Hogan of Forrest and Cotton Engineering Firm met with the council and gave
the council an up to date renort on the progress that they had made on the plans
for our sewage disposal plant and lines.
Mr. Medinach xm with the First Southwest Co. met with the council and led a discussion
in regard to the bonds that will finance the above dexeribed construction.
There was a discussion in regard to the Trash pickup charges on the various business's
with the following action being taken. A motion was made by R.B. Richardson and
seconed by R.V. Groves that all business's be charged k1.00 per month. Motion
carried.
The new mayor with the consent of the council made the following appointments.
Health n:"ficer Dr. T.P . Trimble
Water Superintendent B.D. Simmons
City Treasurer Rita Smith
Tax Assessor and Collector---- J.A. Pitts
Attorney for the City Roland Boyd
Mayor Pro-Tem A.D. Boyd
Water and Sewage Committee S.D. Boyd and R.V. Groves
Street Committee R.B. Richardson, M.F. Allen, and W.D. Green.
There was a discussion in regard to the R.L. Mullins Co. using the Now City-aproperty
to display and store his merchandise. The following action was taken in regard to
thlta matter. A motion was made by R.V. Groves and seconed by R.B. Richardson that
the secretary be instructed to write Mr. Hal Mullins, Manager of said company, and
inform him that unless his merchandise is matted from City Property within a seven
day period he will be fined the sum of $100.00. Each offense in the future is to be delt
with accordingly. Motion Carried.
With no further business the council adjourned.
