01-12-1957 (City Council) Minutes CITY OF WYLIE WYLIE, TEXAS January 12, 195 At i reular mmeting of the council on the above date, all members of the council were present. Mr. Robert Hogan and Mr. Carr Forrest of tilt our engineering firm of Forrest and Cotton met with the council, and assisted in the opening of bids' for the proposed Sewage Treatment Plant. The low bid was submitted by Clyde Smith, Contractor of Austin, Texas. His bid was $106,525.00. The city did not feet that atadat the bid should be awarded to anyone until our engineers had had a change to examine the bids and make their recormendations. XrzmaxlAxitaIXIMINUNEK Mr. Smith met with the council and our engineers for a few minutes after the opening of the bids, and discussed the possibility of cutting some of the items from his bid. He was to submit a list of the things and the amount that could be deducted from the total amount. There was a discussion in regard to the water deposit. The following action was taken in regard to this matter. A motion was made by A.D. Boyd -and•seconed by R.B. Richardson- that the present amount of 5.00 be rai&ed imt to $10.00 on residents and $15.00 on businesses. Motion carried. This action will only affect new coustomers.
