04-11-1957 (City Council) Minutes CITY OF WYLIE
WYLIE, TEXAS
April 11, 1957
At a regular meeting of the city council on the above date all members of the
council were present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Alderman Boyd who was retiring made the following motion. Mr. Boyd moved that
all members of the council and secretary and treasurer salary be doubled. Mayor
Click ask that the mayors salary be left the same, and Alderman Boyd accepted
this provision. The motion was seconed by R.B. Richardson and the motion carried.
The election returns were canvassed and the following mem were declared elected to
the council. They were Aldermen: R.B. Richardson., Joe Hower., and 011ie
Addington. Mrs. Rita Smith administered the oath.
The mayor with the consent of the council made the following appointments.
J.A. Pitts-Assessor and Collector of Taxes. Rita Smith-Treasurer
Jack Bentley-City Police and Fire Marshall W.n. Houston Collector of water bills
A.L. Maynard-Sanitary Department Roland Boyd-Attorney for the city
Jakie Hicks Trash Collection Water Superintendent- was left open
Street committee-R.B. Richardson., Joe Hoyrey., and M.F. Allen
Water & Sewage Committee., R.V. Groves and 011ie Addingtc#
Mayor Pre Tem--M.F. Allen.
There was a lengthy discussion in regard to the water department and the way it is
being run. Mr. Simms was to be asked to meet with the council and his duties
were to be Y .m.

starting the following day.
There was a discussion in regard to a Clean Up Paint Up week to be held in the
future, but no definite date was set.
With no further business the council adjourned.
