10-10-1957 (City Council) Minutes CITY OF WYLIE
WYLIE, TEXAS
Oct. 10, 1957
The City Council met in regular session on the above date with all
members of the council being present except Alderman Howrey.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Jick Hoasewright met with the council and presented a letter from the
City Planning Coamissioa recommending that the C.L. Hillis property,
better described as Lot 1 Bleck 35 of the RailRoad Addition be designated
as soaaercial property and that the construction of a service station
iondialsouvadnostiabamaiddixbiti would be acceptable. After deliberation
on the for a time, approval was given and the secretary was instructed to
write a letter to the Gulf Oil Corporation stating the cities approval.
The secretary was to include in this the sities approval for the paving
of a strip of land not covered by the deed to said property. This strip
of land in question is bordered by Jackson Street on the east and New Highway
78 on the North.
There was a lengthy discussion in regard to the sewage line flirt in. the
south part of town that runs down the alley west of Ballard street south
of College St. There was much talk of replacing said line and the water
• and sewage committee were to get estimates cc. this work.
Witham further buslnes the council adjourned.
