At a regular meeting of the city council on the above date the following
members of the council were present. Mayor Boyd; Aldermen, Addington, Collins,Richards
Bostic, and Sect. Housewright.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and aoproved.
All bills were orderd raid.
MAEX A resolution in ±egard. to the UMW Johnston Company was presented
b-rW.F. Duncan and the following action was taken. A motion was made by R.B.
Richardson and seconed by Ed. Collins, Motii_n carried. Copy attached.
The mayor with the consent of the council re-appointed C. Truett Smith as a
director to the N.T. M.L.D. for a period of 2 years beginning 6/1/55.
A discussion in regard to securing the services of W.R. Bozman in keeping the
City Boots was held. The following action was taken. A motion was made By
Ed Collins and Seconed by 011ie Addington that W.R. Bozman be hired. Motion
Carried.
There was a discussion in regard to the securring the property from the Rail
Road for the fire statdL An appoint with Mr. Creel was to be made to try
to work out the details .
With no further business the council adjourned.
