MINUTES OF CITY COUNCIL MEETING, OCTOBER 14_, 1958

The meeting was held in City Hall at 3 p.m. Tuesday, October
14, 1958.
The first order of business was a petition presented by
Mr. Agnew and containing over one hundred signatures, protesting
the lint and chaff spread over a large area of the city by the
Gin. A discussion followed as to ways and means to combat
this.
Water rates - R. B. Richardson moved that "All customers not
served by the City+s present distribution system shall be
charged the s.ame_rate_as that charged by the North Texas Water
District - 5.88 minimum per customer". This was seconded by
Ed. Collins. -- Motion passed.
There were several complaints sent to the Mayor about a hog pen
in the west side of town. A Motion was made by Ed. Collins that
our City Secretary, W. W. Housewright, write a letter to the
property owner with the notation that a copy was being sent to
the City Attorney, John Gay. R. B. Richardson seconded this -
the Motion carried.
The question of limited time for parking on the Main Street
was discussed and action on this postponed.
Jack Bentley, City Marshall, presented a bill for car repairs
on his car used in police duty. R. B. Richardson moved that
we pay the entire bill ( 128.00). Mrs. Bostic seconded -
the motion carried.
The Tax Assessor and Collector was instructed to prepare a
list of all names of Deliquent Tax payers and present to
City Council bg or before February 1, 1959. These are to
be turned over to the City Attorney for collection.
The current bills were read and approved for payment.
