06-09-1959 (City Council) Minutes CITY OF WYLIE
WYLIE, TEXAS
June 9, 1959
The City council of this city met in regular session on the above, date with
the following members of the council being present: Mayor Boyd; Aldermen
Parker, Addington, Bostic, Collins, and sect.,Housewright.
The minutes-of the previous meeting mere read and approved.
All bills mere ordered paid.
There was a discussion in regard to an equalization board for the city, and
Alderman Collins reported that J.C. Steward and A.M. Harrison had agreed to
serve. One other person was needed to make the board complete.
There was a discussion in regard to the drainage problem in Lavon Terrace
Addition, but no action was taken.
Alderman Collins reported that the proposed sewage line running east on Oak
and North on 5th at would not have sufficient drop to work. It was reported
that septic tanks would have to be used.
A discussion was made Ica in regard to the water collection man and his
salary. A motion was made by C.B. Collins and seconed by M.J. Parker that
his salary be raised to $175.00 per month. Motion Carried.
A discussion was made in regard to changing the meter reading date to the
20th of each month. Since this would give the collection man more time in
making the bills the following action was taken. A motion was made by C.M.
Collins and seconed b! Mrs. J.L. Bostic that this date by changed. Motion
Carried.
There mos a discussion in regard to Work to be done on the water tower.
After much discussion: a motion was made by C.B. Collins and seconed by
Jack Parker that Dallas Tank Service Co. be given a contract to repair
same at a cost of $4645.00. Motion Carried.
With nos further business the council adjourned.
