the City Council met in regular session with Mayor Boyd and
the following present
Mrs. John $ostic, E. J. Parker, Ed 'ollins, J. A. Rabb, J. R.
Stprep.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Motion by J. R. Storey to appoint Mrs. Jack Bostic as assistant
City Secretary and Tax Assessor and Collector, Second by Ed
Collins. Motion carried.
Motion by J. A. Rabb that John 'say work out a termination to
the contract with Forrest and Cotton suitable to both parties.
Second by Mrs. Bostic. Motion carried.
Motion by J. 4.. Rabb to appoint bobby Ross ' ire Marshall.Second
by Ed Collins. Motion carried.
Barney Gaylor appeared to discuss the job of Chief of Police.
City bills were read and approved.
Request by Ed Collins to move city limits sign below "yli& utane.
Motion by J. R. Storey to meet on the 2nd. Tuesday afternoon
and the 4th Tuesday night at 7:00 P. M. Second by Ed Collins
Motion carried.
Motion by Mrs. Bostic to adjounn. Second by Jock Parker.

The city council met in called session luesdny, May $, 1961
at 7 P. M. The purpose of the meeting was to hire a chief
of police.
J. R. Storey moved that we appoint Barney Gaylor, Chief of
Police at a salary of $400.00 pr. month paid the 1st. and
15th. of each month. Second by Ed Collins. Motion carried.
Joe Rabb moved that the mayor appoint a committee to shop for
a 2nd. hand 4 door Chevrolet automobile to be used and equip-
ped for a Police car. Second by J. R. Storey. Motion carried
Mayor Boyd Pppointed Ed Collins and Joe Rabb to this committee.
