05-20-1961 (City Council) Minutes May 20, 1961
The City Council met in called session May 20, 1961 with all
members present.
Tfle purpose of the meeting was to discuss the duties of the
thief of Police.
It was decided that in addition to all regular police duties
the policeman would work the school mornings and evenings and
be at all ball games.
Mr. Gaylor gave the Council copies of several records he needs
to keep and they will De provided for him.
Joe $abb moved that Mr. Gaylor consult with State Highway as
to speed limits on State highways and brigg a recommendation
for speed limits and stop signs for city streets. Second by
Mr. Storey. Motion passed.
Mr. Storey moved that Bobby Ross be given the title of City
Pol&ceman. Second by Mrs. Bostic. Motion carried.
It was df:cided to meet Tuesday May mod. at 4:oo P. M.
