MINUTES
The City Council met at 5; 00 O' clock on the above date .
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Parker with the
following Council present;. Ed Collins, airs John L. Bostic,
J. R. Het and Mayor Parker.
The minutes of the last two meeting were read. A correction
on the parking signs was made then the minutes were approved.
Truett Smith and Melvin St. John met with the Council to
discuss the planning of the new addition on land owned. by
Mr. Owen George .
Discussion, on an appraisal board:. Results was to select 5
or 7 raon t,o serve on a committee to appraise the City property
then select an equalization board to equal all taxes . They
would try to have therr. all finished by Feb. 1st . 1962. Each
member of the council(Gone or more names to contact for the
appraisal board.
John Gay, City Atty. presented an Ordinance creating a municipal
defense and disaster relief committee . Mayor Parker will
serve ,as chairman. He will appoint some one to help him.
Motion was made by J. R. Story and seconded by Ed Collins
that this ordinance pass . The motion carried.
The bills were read and approved. Mrs . Jiostic made motion
to pay all bills and J. R. Story seconded it.
It was decided to have a Xmas add in the Wylie News, to cost
around 010.00.
Motion was made by Ed. Collins and seconded by J. R. Story
to give City Employee, B. N. Gaylor Jr. , W. A. Allen,
James Housewright, Bobby Ross, Clifford Belamy and Oneida
Gallagher,. a Xmas bonus check for one week salary on
Friday, December 15,1961 .
It was declided The City Office would rove to 109 Oak St.
in the Bostic Building as soon as building was ready. Mrs .
Bostic said it should be ready by the 15th.
With no further business the meeting adjourned.
