WYLIE, TEXAS
MINUTES
The City Council met at 3o' clock Feb. 13, ,-1962, with the
following present: Mayor Parker, Ed Collins, J. M. Story and
Mrs . John L. B ostic. Mayor Parker called the meeting to order.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Bills
were read and acnroved except Ken Moores Motor Co . Motion
made by Ed Collins and seconded by Mrs . John L. Bostic to pay
all other bills . Motion carried.
The Council appointed K rren to serve on a Zoning Commission
as follows : Truett Smith, Chairman, Raymond Posey, Jack B ostic
Melvin St. John and W. W. Housewright . Motion was made by Mrs .
Bostic and seconded by J. R. Story. Motion carried.
A motion made by Ed Collins and seconded by J. n. Story that
the City Councilmen and Mayor shall draw no salaries for the
fiscal year 10E2-63 . Motion carried.
Motion made by J. R. Story and seconded by Mrs . John L. Bostic
to adopt ordinance on taxes No . 62-1 which establishes City' s
fiscal year, established City' s tax year and provides a schedule
for penalty and interest. Motion carried.
Motion made by Ed Collins and seconded by J. R. Story to charge
101.00 to prepare tax certificates . Motion carried.
Council authorized the sale of scrap metal for 60 days to R. K.
McDonald for the sum of ).60 per hundred. pounds .
Ordinance No. 62-2 passed which Provides for a City Manager,
prescribes duties of Manager. Provides methods for receiving
bids and provides for the preparing of the Annual Budget.
Mr. Lee presented a division of salaries for budget purposes
which were approved by the Council .
Mr. A. J. McClure met with the Council and ask for a Oranchise
to opennate a Taxie Service. After some discussion with the
City Atty. it was decided that the City would furnish a
Franchise Ordinance so %r. McClure would study same with the
understanding a meeting would be held on the subject at some
future date .
The City Atty. advised the Council that the City does not
have the power to control or regulate private enterprise when
located on private property. he have no Ordinance governing
this .
With no further business the meeting adjouned.
